Prolific is an online platform for recruiting verified human participants and collecting behavioral data for scientific research and artificial intelligence development. The service provides access to a vetted global participant pool for surveys, model evaluation, and human-in-the-loop tasks. The system features granular demographic targeting, participant identity verification, and quality screening mechanisms to maintain data integrity. Organizations can conduct studies for reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), safety benchmarking, dataset annotation, and academic experiments. The platform is designed for academic researchers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and market research teams. Pricing is calculated per study based on participant compensation rates plus platform service fees, with custom enterprise plans available.
