Prolific is an online research and human data collection platform engineered for behavioral studies and artificial intelligence model training. The system connects academic researchers and AI developers with a verified global participant pool for data annotation, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and user surveys. The platform features comprehensive demographic filtering, automated response quality checks, and ethical compensation standards for participants. Researchers can deploy custom surveys, run interactive behavioral experiments, and collect human evaluations to benchmark and fine-tune machine learning models. The service is designed for academic scholars, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and technology organizations. Its pricing model operates on a pay-per-study basis that combines participant compensation with platform service fees.
